In 2025, VIDA Select holds strong as a prominent name in the Matchmaking industry, and their model is admittedly unique in blending personalization with technology. But how does VIDA Select stack up in terms of cost, success, and client reviews? We’ll give you all the details below.
What is VIDA Select?
Based on their website, VIDA Select offers an innovative, hybrid matchmaking service designed to streamline the dating process for busy professionals. They are a global firm that operates remotely and aims to serve clients in both urban and rural areas. The most significant difference between VIDA Select and other Matchmakers is their use of apps, algorithms, and hard data to find matches for their clients.
Their process combines two core services: searching their internal database for potential matches, and optimizing clients’ profiles on dating apps and online platforms.
With their profile optimization service, VIDA Select handles everything from selecting the best pictures to drafting the most compelling bios This part of their dating service is designed to help clients save time swiping and sorting through dating app matches and to set up clients for the best chances of success.
Interestingly, the VIDA Select Matchmaking team messages each dating app match on behalf of the client before handing off the conversation.
Their true Matchmaking service is slightly different than other major Matchmaking firms, in that there is no anonymity within their database. The client’s information is made known to any match candidate. However, VIDA Select does state that they require background checks for all matches before sending them on a date with their client.
Also in contrast to traditional Matchmaking services, VIDA Select offers a month-by-month membership option similar to a subscription model instead of more lengthy contracts and promises to find matches for their clients quickly.
Who Owns VIDA Select?
VIDA Select was founded by Scott Valdez back in 2006 after he became increasingly frustrated at the lack of results from online dating. His vision was to create a dating service that saved clients time and compared the efficiency of his model to grocery delivery and laundry pickup services.
Before launching his Matchmaking firm, Scott was most notably employed by Trusted Translations, a language translation service, as a Sales and Marketing Manager. Nearly 15 years later, Scott remains the acting CEO and President of VIDA Select.
As we hinted at above, VIDA Select combines technology, psychology, and data science with the goal of helping clients connect with their best matches. Their data-driven, algorithm-based approach to Matchmaking is vastly different than other established Matchmaking firms, which Scott believes adds to VIDA Select’s competitive edge.
How Does VIDA Select Work?
Again, VIDA Select operates very differently than traditional Matchmaking services. Their dating services combine Matchmaking via their internal database and online dating profile management.
They also charge a $100 fee for lifetime database membership, unlike other Matchmaking firms. It’s important that we stress that database membership does not include the typical perks of Matchmaking, like a personal match search or hands-on support.
After signing on to one of the membership tiers, the client will complete an in-depth consultation with their Matchmaker, covering everything from their personality, dating history, and what they’re looking for in a partner. The Matchmaker will use that information in their search to find the most compatible matches.
After the consultation, the Matchmaker will work with their client to determine the best dating platforms for their relationship goals. They’ll optimize the client’s profile bio and pictures before beginning the search. Once the profiles are live, the Matchmaker uses VIDA Select’s internal database and various dating apps to find matches for their client.
The Matchmaker will handle all conversations on dating apps at first to figure out which matches are the most compatible for their client. When the client is interested in getting to know one of their matches, VIDA Select gives the match the client’s phone number and lets their client take over the conversation and build out the relationship.

As of 2025, VIDA Select has a 2.67 out of 5-star rating with 6 total reviews. VIDA Select is currently unaccredited on the BBB, but they have had a profile for over 15 years. VIDA Select currently has a B+ rating.
The most positive reviews mention feeling supported and understood by their matchmaker, and finding a partner through their Matchmaking services. The most negative reviews claim that they never went on any dates with their matches and that VIDA Select’s match databases did not include anyone in the client’s immediate area.
VIDA Select Reviews on Trustpilot
Overall, VIDA Select has some of its highest ratings on Trustpilot, and they have claimed their profile on this site. They currently have a 4.6 out of 5-star rating with over 380 total reviews.
The most positive reviews say that VIDA Select has an excellent Matchmaking team and that their services have saved clients a lot of time trying to find dates. The most negative reviews mention the subpar quality of their photo editing and dating profile optimization skills, and feeling like their services were not worth the price.
VIDA Select Reviews on Indeed
VIDA Select has mixed reviews on Indeed with a 2.6 out of 5-star rating and 5 total reviews. Out of the 5 rating criteria that Indeed sets, their lowest is 1.3 out of 5 stars in job security and advancement opportunities.
The most positive review talks about loving their flexible schedule, yet also mentions that work is inconsistent. The most negative review mentions the instability of their role and says that VIDA Select was the “most toxic environment” they ever worked in.
VIDA Select Reviews on Reddit
There are currently five posts that mention VIDA Select on Reddit. Overall, VIDA Select has a fairly mixed reputation on Reddit, with about half of all reviews being positive, and another half being negative.
The most positive comments on Reddit mention that they enjoyed their time as a client, felt that VIDA Select was truly invested in their clients, and some even found long-term relationships from their services. The most negative comments call VIDA Select “a complete scam” and they never received any matches from them.
VIDA Select Reviews on PissedConsumer
VIDA Select’s lowest client rating is on PissedConsumer, with only 1.7 out of 5 stars. However, there are only 4 total reviews, and admittedly, this review site is designed for customer complaints, not positive reviews.
There are no positive reviews of VIDA Select on PissedConsumer. All negative reviews feel that their dating services are overpriced and that their internal team is not responsive to clients and does not follow through on their promises.
VIDA Select Complaints and Lawsuits
As this is one of my later editions in this blog series, I’ve come to realize that most major Matchmaking companies in the US have been in legal hot water at some point. However, based on our research, it looks like VIDA Select hasn’t dealt with any lawsuits. That said, VIDA Select has had its fair share of complaints, with 10 complaints on the BBB in the last 3 years,
Their most recent answered complaint claims to have not received the service they agreed to, and when this client brought up their disappointment to their Matchmaker, the client was outwardly ridiculed based on their looks, was blocked from the VIDA Select database, and was not provided a refund.
VIDA Select did respond and claimed that the client had misunderstood what was included in their level of membership and that they stand by their assertion that their services were rendered as agreed upon.
Their oldest answered unresolved complaint mentions being promised by VIDA Select that the client’s pool of potential matches in their locale would expand, however, their potential dating pool never increased. They also claim that they never received any internal matches from the VIDA Select team.
VIDA Select did respond and refuted the client’s claims, saying that the client did go on dates with matches from VIDA Select and that the client received the level of service they signed up for.
Is VIDA Select Legit or a Scam?
Based on its reputation in the industry, client reviews and complaints, and its website, VIDA Select is a legit Matchmaking and dating service firm. Of course, no service is 100% successful for every single client, but VIDA Select does have mostly positive reviews overall. They are well-established in the industry and are generally well-acclaimed and recognized.
That said, the negative complaints on the BBB and other review sites are slightly concerning, considering that multiple clients accused VIDA Select of not fulfilling the terms of their membership and failing to provide them with any matches. Although VIDA Select did refute these claims, two complaints remain unresolved.
VIDA Select Cost
VIDA Select’s Matchmaking packages vary in price, but their services are generally cheaper than most other Matchmaking services in the industry. Their most basic package starts at $1,195 per month, and their most expensive membership option is $2,595 per month.
The price variance is mainly based on how many hours the client would like their Matchmaker to dedicate to finding them a match each month and also factors in parameters such as “ideal partner” criteria and number of search locations. Their clients essentially pay for the Matchmaker’s time, not necessarily the amount of matches they receive.
As we mentioned above, VIDA Select also requires all database members to pay a fee to join. It’s certainly cheaper than their Matchmaking packages, however, there is no specialized, dedicated effort from any of their Matchmakers to find matches for their database members.
VIDA Select Success Rate
VIDA Select makes bold claims about the success of its Matchmaking and dating app services. On their website, it’s listed that clients will start receiving matches about 17 days after joining. VIDA Select also asserts that 99% of their clients go on dates and another 82% enter a relationship within 3 months of becoming a client.
As part of our due diligence, we scoured the website for any statistics, hard data, or other proof that VIDA Select is continually measuring and updating their success rate. However, we could not find any mention of how they measured that success rate nor proof that any analytics were consistently being reviewed. That isn’t to say that their success rate is inaccurate; we just weren’t able to find anything to back up their claims.
Is VIDA Select Worth It?
If you’ve read any of our other blogs in this series, you’ll likely know what I’m about to say. It’s not LUMA’s place to determine if VIDA Select or any other Matchmaking firm is worth it to you. Whether VIDA Select is your best option entirely depends upon your budget, time commitment, and the level of support and personalization you’re looking for.
In our opinion, VIDA Select is likely the best choice for singles who are searching for love on a budget. Their Matchmaking services are some of the cheapest in the industry, and they offer a month-by-month membership. Their dating app profile optimization is great for anyone who’s not completely burnt out of dating apps and is willing to invest in seeing better results.
However, VIDA Select may not be the best option for you if you’re tired of algorithms, apps, and online dating as a whole, strictly seeking traditional Matchmaking, or are looking for a more upscale, luxurious dating experience.
